- First Chinese Expert Days a huge success |

 In
April 2008, the first "Chinese PROFIBUS and PROFINET Experts
Days" took place in Beijing, Shanghai and Xi'an. The goals
were to promote PROFIBUS and PROFINET technology in China and
generate business opportunities between the participating companies
and the audience. More than 500 people from the industry visited
this event which was suited for technicians, engineers and
management.
The presentations covered the latest technological achievements
of PROFIBUS and PROFINET. The whole event was filled with subjects
which are now very hot automation topics. From redundancy to
high-speed, from asset management to troubleshooting, from
product development to installation automation.

Experts coming from Pepperl+Fuchs, ABB, Siemens, PROCENTEC,
Softing, Endress+Hauser and profichip took care of the presentations.
The experts and additional companies also occupied table tops
on which they demonstrated their latest products for the automation
of first class production processes or device development.
The astonishing thing was that everybody worked extremely close
together without any barriers. All faces pointing to the same
direction and we got the job done! This is something special
from our community that no other organization can match.
It was also the first event in China where the audience could
witness a live demo of PROFIBUS and PROFINET. From scratch
a configuration was created with both technologies running
on one controller. It was demonstrated that PROFIBUS and PROFINET
have a perfect match and can save you energy, weight, materials,
spare parts, documentation and lots of effort. The main message
was; "your investment is completely safe for now, the future,
yourself and your children".
 At the end of the event a panel discussion was held where the
experts answered direct questions from the audience. More than
10 automation magazines and Beijing TV Station picked up the
message we are spreading and will publish their stories nationwide.
We can look back at a successful event in which we have informed
the Chinese industry about the most widely used automation
technology.
