 PROCENTEC
has been officially accredited by the PNO in Germany as PROFINET
Competence Center.
Services like installation audits, troubleshooting, consultancy
and training will also cover the PROFINET technology. Mr. Paulo
Silva, Mark de Brabander and Patrick van Marrewijk are appointed
as primary experts. The initial demonstration and training
equipment was donated by Siemens and Phoenix Contact.

assurance for Network Components |

 The
Working Group - Fibre Optic Components had a meeting at PROCENTEC.
The objective was to investigate the testing of Network Components
for PROFIBUS and PROFINET.
Dennis van Booma and Fedor Meyer gave a presentation on how the testlab
already tests active Network Components. PROCENTEC has almost all the test
cases available to test repeaters, fibre optic components, wireless components
and other medium converters.

| Troubleshooting
for Holmen Paper Madrid |

 A
group of 18 technicians from Holmen Paper Madrid (Spain)
was trained on-site by PROCENTEC in the disciplines of fault
finding for their PROFIBUS DP networks.
The Holmen plant recycles old paper into new paper. This process is automated
with PROFIBUS DP. Experts from PROCENTEC gave a 2-day practical and theoretical
instruction how to use the ProfiTrace Analyzer to detect
and eliminate disturbances.

Engineer session in Dubai |

 A
group of Siemens engineers coming from different countries
in the Middle East, successfully completed a Certified PROFIBUS
Engineer training session that took place in Dubai.
For 5 days the participants were trained by the experts of PROCENTEC in
all aspects of PROFIBUS DP/PA technology and the available troubleshooting
+ engineering tools. Almost everybody passed the exam and are now ready
for operations in the Middle East region.

PROFIBUS Conference |

 At
the UK conference on 27 June 2006, Dennis van Booma of PROCENTEC
presented the topic 'System Testing of PROFIBUS installations'.
During his presentation he gave an overview about the available tools and
what the test strategy is. He concluded his presentation with a demonstration
of ProfiTrace on a running network. The listeners could
experience how easy it is to verify installations when you have the proper
tools at hand.

roadshow for the Chinese industry (2) |

 In
September 2006, the PROFIBUS Roadshow was held in Wuhan and
Nangjin.
Over 400 people participated and witnessed presentations about the technology
basics, design, commissioning, wiring and installation. The Chinese audience
could also taste the successful applications of the ProfiHub A5, the PROFIBUS
DP spur repeater that makes installations much more reliable.

Certified Engineer session in Finland |

 The
first Finnish Certified PROFIBUS Engineer training session
that took place at the AEL institute in Helsinki, ended successfully.
For 4 days the participants were trained by the experts of PROCENTEC in
all aspects of PROFIBUS technology and the available troubleshooting +
engineering tools. Almost all participants passed the exam and are now
ready for worldwide operations.

A
large group of 31 participants took part at the PROFIBUS
troubleshooting training that was held at the AEL
Institute in Helsinki - Finland on March 2006. 
Cargill's
brand new plant for the refinery of palm oil, for soap production,
has been equipped with ProfiHub A5s. A PROFIBUS DP backbone
has been created with multiple ProfiHubs. 
We
have audited the OMYA plant in Sylacauga, Alabama - USA.
In 2 days a PROFIBUS DP/PA installation had to be inspected
by means of measurements and visual check.
ProfiPulse
is a low cost tool to assist with the validation of installed
PROFIBUS cable. It can verify if the cable is suitable for
the required transmission speed. 
In
May 2006, the PROFIBUS Roadshow was held in Beijing and Xian.
Over 450 people from the process industry participated and
witnessed presentations about the technology basics, design,
commissioning, wiring and installation.
The
first training session of the 'Chinese Certified PROFIBUS
Technician', organized by CAMETA and PROCENTEC, was held
in Beijing in November 2006 with about 30 participants from
13 companies. After 3 days of intensive theoretical and practical
training, everyone passed the required exam.
In
January 2006, the China Association for Mechatronics Technology & Application
(CAMETA) and PROCENTEC organized the 'PROFIBUS Product Development' training
in Beijing.
