web page is now available that contains free and commercial
plugins for ProfiTrace.
In ProfiTrace, plugings are software modules that add specific
features or services to the exisitng software. It simply plugs
into the existing system. Plugins make ProfiTrace a powerful
PROFIBUS tool, because they allow external parties to enhance
the ProfiTrace software. The analyzer is an essential tool
for troubleshooting, maintenance and commissioning.

PROFINET training in Dubai |

 On
13 February 2007 the first PROFINET training in Dubai ended
successfully. 12 participants from the UAE joined this session.
During the course a constant comparison with PROFIBUS was made.
PROFINET is using Industrial Ethernet as communication medium,
which has a lot of myths like: cabling, security, determinism
and speed. During the course all these items were discussed.

has been audited by Dennis van Booma as PI Training Center
for Germany.
After inspecting the facilities and training materials, Dennis van Booma
came to the conclusion that Softing complies with the requirements to provide
certified PROFINET training courses in Germany.

| Training
for Edison Italy |
|
 A
service team of Edison Italy was trained on-site by PROCENTEC
in the disciplines of fault finding for their PROFIBUS networks.
Our experts gave a 2-day practical and theoretical instruction
how to use the ProfiTrace Analyzer to detect
and eliminate disturbances. After the training the service
team tested their knowledge in their own installation. They
found deviations which were not detected during commissioning
and could later on cause a lot off disturbances. The service
team said; the training paid off on the first day.

16 March 2007 the first PROFINET training in China ended
successfully.

for Norwegian Competence Centers |

Dennis van Booma has audited AD Elektronik and FINT as PROFIBUS Competence
Center.
After inspecting the facilities and the knowledge of the staff, Dennis
van Booma gave an positive advise to PROFIBUS International to accredit
these 2 companies as PROFIBUS Competence Center.

celebrate our 10-year anniversary |
|
 On
the 1st of June 2007, we celebrate our 10-year anniversary.
This is an impressive achievement for an independent organization
that is only involved with PROFIBUS and PROFINET technology.
Dennis van Booma, Paulo Silva and their staff have been spreading this
technology all over the world and trained thousands of people with unlimited
energy and enthusiasm. Furthermore, a compliment to our R&D department
that has created unique first class tools and components to make working
with PROFIBUS a lot easier and be a step ahead of the other fieldbus systems.

New SIM 1-2 is available now! |
|
 The
new SIM 1-2 PROFIBUS PA ASIC has been released and can be
ordered now.
This ASIC is an improved replacement of the SIM 1-1 which is now obsolete.
Our testlab grants special fees for instrumentation manufacturers who have
updated their hardware with this ASIC.

Memoriam: Edgar Küster |
|
 On
24 October 2007, Edgar Küster - the chairman of PROFIBUS
International suddenly passed away at the age of 59.
Edgar Küster was in the highest and truest sense of the words a driving
force for the worldwide promotion of PROFIBUS technology. He will be remembered
as a social and friendly man who could bring people and cultures together.
He was a phenomenon
that does not repeat itself.

| Certified
Engineer fresh-up course |
|
 The
first Certified Engineer fresh-up course took place at the
PROCENTEC office.
The certificate for the first generation Certified Engineers was expired.
In a 1-day session the oscilloscope skills of the engineers were upgraded
with the ProfiTrace 2.

Another
session of the 'Chinese Certified PROFIBUS Technician', organized
by CAMETA and PROCENTEC, was held in Beijing in March 2007. 
On
the 27th of June, CAMETA and PROCENTEC organized the first
PROFIBUS Troubleshooting and Maintenance course for 18 participants
in Beijing.
On
the 17th of September, CAMETA and PROCENTEC organized another
PROFIBUS Troubleshooting and Maintenance course in Beijing.
