ProfiHub C5 - 5 Channel repeater

ProfiHub C5 - 5 Channel PROFIBUS Repeater

PROCENTEC has launched the ProfiHub C5 for even rougher and demanding applications.

The ProfiHub family is a collection of DP network components that enable long spur lines and bus structures with star segments. They contain 5 isolated repeater channels that have short circuit protection. The ProfiHub C5 distinguishes itself with its double metal housing and hybrid power + PROFIBUS connectors.

PROCENTEC's compact PROFIBUS repeater offers an economic alternative and fulfils the requirements of the demanding modern industry.

The advanced 12 Mbps core of the repeater is identical as the ProfiHub; It has increased signal strength and glitches are digitally filtered out. The redundant power supply makes it suitable for applications where high availability is required.

First PROFINET Cable Tester

The first handheld PROFINET cable tester is available. It is an essential tool to verify the condition of the PROFINET cable after assembly and installation.

It is a robust product, especially designed for PROFINET and suitable for industrial environments. With 1 key-press the test result is directly displayed. It can also be utilized on all other Ethernet networks with 4-wire and 8-wire shielded cables.

UK PROFIBUS Conference

Dennis van Booma was the host for the workshops at the PROFIBUS/PROFINET Conference

The workshops at the UK Conference got lots of positive comments.

Dennis van Booma explained how to assemble and test PROFINET cable. In another session he demonstrated how to integrate PROFIBUS networks in a PROFINET installation.

Germany has Certified PROFINET Engineers

Tim Karnau has passed the exam of the Certified PROFINET Engineer training

Tim Karnau, the contact person of PROCENTEC Germany, successfully passed the exam of the Certified PROFINET Engineer training.

After an extensive training in which all the required disciplines for PROFINET were sorted out, Tim could finally take it easy and enjoy his new status. He will pass on the knowledge in Germany by organizing PROFINET demo days on a regular basis.

PROFIBUS Training for Emerson Shanghai (China)

9 Engineers from Emerson Shanghai passed the Certified PROFIBUS Engineer exam.

Dennis van Booma was invited to train the engineers personally. It is a milestone for Emerson to join the PROFIBUS family and offer expert solutions with this great automation technology. Their DeltaV and Ovation control systems are equipped with a PROFIBUS DP master, which is suitable for applications in oil/gas and power/water.

In one week they were trained by PROCENTEC in the disciplines required for PROFIBUS, like: engineering, trouble-shooting and validation. Dennis van Booma commented that this was one of the best groups ever.

UL Group receives Indian national award

Our Indian distributor UL Group has received a national award for achievement in the industry.

UL Group provides PROFIBUS training and is promoting ProfiTrace. At the moment they are setting up a PROFBUS competence center which should be operational in the beginning of 2010.

Troubleshooting training in China

Another successful PROFIBUS Troubleshooting training was held in Beijing China.

A mixed group of local and foreign technicians from a variety of industrial areas attended the session to learn the most efficient approach to PROFIBUS troubleshooting.

Paper production with ProfiHubs

The 'Rhein Papier' plant (Germany) has been equipped with 410 ProfiHub B5s. Backbones have been created with multiple ProfiHubs that isolate motor starters from the main bus.

The motor starters and other devices all have their own channel. This way, it is very easy to replace devices during operation. Rhein Papier selected the ProfiHub family in order to create long spur lines and obtain lots of flexibility.

Dennis van Booma conducted in June successful PROFIBUS and PROFINET training sessions in China.

Large groups from a variety of areas like; steel, oil and tobacco attended these sessions to learn the true essence of the best automation technology. Many companies are investigating how to reduce costs and increase productivity.

German Certified Engineers

In February 2009, the first German PROFIBUS engineers passed the exam.

In one week they were trained by PROCENTEC in the disciplines required for PROFIBUS, like: engineering, trouble-shooting and validation. Peter Wenzel of the PNO handed out the certificates.

Troubleshooting training in India

PROCENTEC and UL group organized 2 PROFIBUS Troubleshooting & Maintenance training sessions in Pune and Bangalore.

More than 30 participants signed up; coming from TATA automotive, Siemens, ABB, Honeywell and Yokogawa. The PROFIBUS skills were already on a high level which made it easy to absorb the valuable tips and tricks which were thoroughly explained by PROFIBUS experts Fedor Meyer and Elmer Vis.

PA Oscilloscope in ProfiTrace

ProfiTrace did it again! PA oscilloscope functionality has been integrated in the existing core.

ProfiTrace is now able to do electrical measurements on DP and PA. It is the ONLY tool in the world that is able to be deployed in the entire PROFIBUS plant.

Installation audit in Saudi-Arabia

We have audited the United Sugar plant in Jeddah which was automated by Siemens.

At the end of the session, PROFIBUS expert Mr. Elmer Vis concluded that the installation fulfils the criteria and can reliably go into operation. ProfiTrace was used during the validation.

Competence Center meeting in Krakow

Dennis van Booma gave several presentations on cable jackets and fisco.

In June 2009, the annual PROFIBUS and PROFINET Competence Center meeting took place in Krakow (Poland).

More than 70 delegates attended this biggest meeting ever. Dennis van Booma gave presentations about cable sheaths / jackets and the principle of FISCO.

PROCENTEC’s 12-Year Anniversary

The staff members of PROCENTEC Netherlands celebrated the 12-year anniversary of PROCENTEC at the DISNEY property in Orlando (USA).

The management of PROCENTEC thanks all staff members for their years of dedication in spreading the PROFIBUS/PROFINET technology and enthusiastically supporting the end-users. For the next decade we will stick to our motto; “we do business with people”.

Smallest PROFIBUS ASIC

VPC3+S - the smallest PROFIBUS ASIC has been launched.

It has a BGA-48 package (6x8 mm) and consumes ultra low power. The DP-V0, V1 and V2 protocols are supported and it is compatible with the VPC3 and SPC3 ASICs. It is available now.

Certified PROFIBUS at Honeywell India

PROFIBUS Certified Engineer training course for Honeywell India performed by PROCENTEC

12 Engineers from Honeywell India received the PROFIBUS Certified Engineer DP & PA training courses.

PROCENTEC has been appointed by Honeywell India to conduct the PROFIBUS courses. At the end they were deamed; "enriching, very helpful, informative and will provide much knowledge for future PROFIBUS applications". PROFIBUS experts Dominique Chabauty and Joost van der Nat conducted the session in Bangalore, India.
