UPCable Terminology
FRNC Flame Retardant Non Corrosive. These cables comply with fire protection guidelines.
Halogen free In case of a fire, this cable will not develop any poisonous gases. This is often a requirement in public buildings. Without further measures, a halogen free cable is flammable.
PUR Polyurethane. This jacket/sheath is extremely tough, especially resistant to low temperatures (-40 °C) and is still easy to wind.
FEP This is a fluoric polymer (Perfluorethylenepropylene Copolymer) with high media resistance against nearly all organic and inorganic chemical substances and outstanding temperature resistance.
Fillers Additives for improving certain properties without changing the main ones. For example carbon black is used for reinforcing rubber compounds and glass fibers are used in polyamides to rise up the hardness and dimension stability of formed components.
